I'm a girl, and Asian-American, I have had super long hair for most of my teenage and adult life. i feel like it's time I changed things up a bit, i'm not concerned so much with looking trendy as I am with the cut complimenting my facial structure. It's not a super round face but i have fuller cheeks, and a shapely chin, but not pointy. Help, suggestions or pics?

Well so far I can't find pics of styles but I did find this site, possibly you could discuss this with your hairstylist:

Also this:

As for color maybe stay away from the typical super blond and red highlights, go for a subtle caramel to a medium chocolate highlights
Perhaps also look at actresses that are Asian that have a face similar to yours, and see what different styles they have tried. Also maybe flip through a celebrity hair magazine. Are you thinking short, medium or a trim really? They have hair magazines on the newsstands for all different looks!. good luck hope you get the cut you want!

Stay away from a bob cut because it will just make your cute cheeks look big, so i recommend cutting it a few inches lower thatn shoulder lenth. Also, i think layers are great. Curling it would look even better too. Oh ya and if you want to do streaks or color, i think since its kind of new, to NOT do something outragous but keep it preety close to your natural color. Whatever you decide, good luck! I'm sure it will look great!

Try the Kagome- Kikyo look from Inu Yasha, but trimmed to just below shoulder length. You could use unusual highlights to frame your face, just a few strands in one or more metallic or rainbow colors. Anime- inspired, but not overpoweringly so.

Thin it up, then layer it and do a side fringe. As for colour, auburn would be nice (try a dye that goes out in 8 to 10 washes first and see if you like it). If you like it, try adding highlights on your hair (don't do it yourself though).

Have you seen Sandra Bullock's hair on the cover of Instyle magazine this month? It's pretty cute. My friend is getting her hair cut like it tomorrow. I think it will go well with your face structure. (from what you said) Good luck!

i love short chunky hair on asians. but if you dont like that look just get it layered with supercool bangs. it's all about the bangs, man. sidewept, straight cut.. everything looks good on you guys.
and darker shades of red look good on asians.
