I see nothing wrong with talking on the net. I do see something wrong if he starts to call collect, or asks for money. But if none of this is happening-enjoy!

Well I think that it is great that you have this opportunity to speak to somebody who makes you happy. The fact that he feels the same way makes it even greater. But as my grandmother used to say , you will never know someone fully. Why am I saying this, well I think that you will make your mind up about this guy when you meet up in August, personally I would go with some friends just to make sure. There are some very deceptive people out there.

I wish you luck and hope when you meet him everything gels together.

:D

internet relationships are highly increasing yet there is this taboo about them...personally i dont find them any different to going to somewhere new and meeting a random person...the only difference is that you don't chat face to face to the person. I made alot of friends over the internet...some of whom are my very close friends now who i have met in person. The reason such a negative view is given about these kinda relationships is bcos you have to be careful that the person is genuine so it is a high risk. But if you do like this person continue to talk to him and when you go to meet him or he comes to see you, make sure u arent alone and you take someone you trust and you meet in a public place that way you know hes genuine.

It's ok to talk to people online and have friendships this way, but you're only 16 once! You'll never have the opportunity to have a high school sweetheart again- I think you should put your efforts towards other friendships and relationships. Otherwise you'll be 25 and wondering why you wasted your high school years chatting with some dude you've never met who is thousands of miles away.

just be careful, talking is fine but you have to remember alot of people have an internet persona that isn't really them in real life. You can be whatever you want to be its like a fantasy world.
I wouldn't take it to seriously at this stage and I wouldn't rush to meet either.

Id say it seems innocent but be very very careful!!

If you go to meet anyone always tell somebody!!

Have a look at these websites to get some advice but I do think as long as your safe there is no reason why you cant keep speaking to him!

Just remember all guys will tell you they LOVE you and im afraid some of them will only want one thing!!

Do not meet him..its not safe..find a boy that lives near you and not on the internet..there must be lots of boys at your school.

my advice to you would just be enjoy and be really careful. As long as he treats you ok and hes not asked for any money then you are doing just fine! Meet him on your own turf and play it safe.
