I get embarrassed when my pastor visits and is trying to talk while my dog is lying on the rug in front of him. And then I keep excusing the dog, who keeps this dumb uninterested look and my pastor is polite always and tries to ignore the whole thing. I just am beside myself.

When a guest comes over, close the doors so the dog won't come in, and if he does, shoo him into another room. Tell your kids or relatives to keep him occupied somewhere else until the guest leaves.

Maybe you're feeding him some kind of dog food that makes him give off a lot of flatulence. Do you let him eat human food sometimes? If you do, you should probably stop. Foods like beans and eggs make people give off a lot of flatulence. The next time you take your dog to the vet, ask him/her what foods make a dog give off flatulence, and then cut down his diet on those foods.
