If you start a diet like that your body will go into starvation mode and it will slow down the metabolism and not burn as many calories, it takes about 3000 calories to make 1 Pound of fat. If you cut 1000 calories out of your diet each day and do exercise you will loose about 1 pound every other day, and that is still a little quick to loose weight, it isn't healthy to loose it that fast. Any way most people usually put it back on and then some more. I know from personal experience I weighed about 275 and got into a weight lose contest and lost 25 pounds in 6 weeks, then after the contest i watched what i was eating wasn't starving myself like i was during the contest and now i weight about 290 so i put the weight back on plus a little extra.

This may be a better question- Can you live the rest of your life and manage to only eat one sandwich a day? Not likely. Not taking in enough calories screws up your metabolism. Your body will store all the calories it can because it thinks it's starving. As soon as you resume any sort of normal diet, you'll gain it back. I'm an experienced crash dieter- I did it all through high school. I used to lose 5lbs a week, gain it back, lose it, and so on.Ten years later, the only thing that works is doing it for real- healthy eating and exercise. But hey, don't deprive yourself! Eat a small amount of what you love everyday. Be balanced. It's hard work for your mind and body but it's the only way to keep the weight off for good. Weight should be lost no faster than 2lbs a week. Didn't you expect an answer that would discourage your plan? :) Good luck and be good to your body.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

Probably 10 lbs a week. But seriously, that's not healthy. Malnoutrition causes many problems, dehydration, and even as severe as cardiac arrest. Think about it, a 23 yr old can go into cardiac arrest, if they don't get enough nutrtion. It puts as much strain on your heart, as an obese person puts on theirs.

The healthy way is most affective, and you'll keep the weight off. It will also leave you feeling healthier, and more balanced. Unlike when you don't get enough food, you become irritable and have a very quick temper.

Honestly, little if any in the long run. Any doctor will tell you eating regular meals in correct portions is your best route, with exercise. If you cut down to one meal, while it seems like logicaly you'd be eating less calories, the first reaction your body will take is to turn as much ingested food as possible into fat cells, since if you really were in danger and starving, they would be a lot more complex to burn and therefore sustain you longer. Hence why it's difficult to burn fat. It's really not a good way to try to loose wieght. Once you slow your metabolism down, it takes a good deal to get it back to what it was.

probably a lot but like any dieting you would just gain it all back later and then some. The minute a person starts to starve themselves their body goes in starvation mode and their metabolism slows down.

It is definitely not good for your body, but you will most likely not care, so I will answer your question. Even if your body goes into starvation mode, you will still lose weight. Per week... around 2-3 pounds. Make sure to eat SOMETHING, your body needs energy to burn fat, too!
