I am american man working overseas and I know lots of american men searching for love outside the U.S.

Most of the men are divorced from an american ex-wife.
According to them, the american woman attitude is the problem.
The american woman (either white or black). They have become liberated loud mouths. Very disrespectful and controlling. Manipulative and never satisfied.
Is this the reason why there is so much divorce and broken families in our country.
Did the court system do this?
I don't know, What is your point veiw?

I don't think it is that women are too liberated in the States (or Canada,I'm from Canada) I think it just may appear that way when you compare other cultures to Western culture. You must really ask yourself do you want a wife who stays with you because of love and mutual respect, who you, respect intellectually, who can contribute to the household financially and is able to have an opinion and who is able to express it without fear.It took women many , many years to have the same freedoms and rights as the males. They were not considered "persons" for the purposes of voting, were not allowed education, should only work if they were poor, were not allowed to own property or inherit it.A woman was considered chattel for lack of a better word. The days of the wife being barefoot and pregnant are over.In my dictionary liberation is freedom and that freedom should apply to both genders. Did you ever think that the men who want compliant wives can only keep a wife through control and fear.If they knew their relationship was secure they wouldn't fear liberation. These same men should read "Animal Farm".I remember one line "All animals are equal, but some are more equal" These men you talk about are bitter about their failed marriages and I could almost guarantee they blame that failure entirely on their ex.

Liberated from what? we're not all in detention center, so we are liberated in that way. we are free to imagine and say what we please, and that is a spread of liberation. we've legal protection from reproductive slavery, so there is that. What are you asking? Are we free from having to adhere to the guidelines or land up in detention center? Nope. will we do some thing we want without consequences? i don't think of so. we're not liberated from the guidelines of physics, or from viruses or societal expectations, besides the undeniable fact that we would opt for to pay no interest to them. Your question is basically too imprecise to respond to without itemizing each and every freedom and each and each and every constraint lower than which American women folk stay. to boot, we're not all an similar.

well, see what used to happen is that the married man would leave his wife and children and not have to support them anymore...and he would be making lots of money while the ex wife was left to take care of the kids ...usually these women had no job skills. when the legal system caught up to this fact....they made the marriage contract what it was...a contract. men dont want to marry for that reason as i mentioned earlier. they want the stability and perks that marriage has, but also want to lead a double life without reprocussions. they want their wives to work now also so they dont have to support them if they do decide to divorce at a later date...and of course if a woman also must work...then she isnt able to be as flexible and energetic and is bitter when she finds out that her husband expects her to perform like a stay at home wife and mother. peace

i dont think that the courts did it. i think that it's a clash between society and -other society. women are encouraged to stand up for themselves- sometimes to the point of taking over the relationship. but at the same time they are influenced to be with a man just to not be lonely. so women settle for a guy- and arent happy- and then are encouraged to stand up for themselves and divorce the guy. when she shouldnt have been with him in the first place.
as for other cultures- just because they dont have a high divorce rate doesnt mean there isnt bad **** going on at home- i.e. abusive and male ruled cultures, cheating, etc.

I think our culture (especially the media) strongly advocates loud-mouthing, controlling, difficult to please women (thank you sit-coms), so there will be people who have taken on those mindsets around every corner... but I don't know how the law relates to it.

Since most people are children of culture to some degree, you're going to get a lot of people who take on mindsets like those of people you see on the airwaves. Of course, there are lots of decent people out there - even some downright good ones - but you'll always find types who are taken over by these bitter mindsets of today's culture, but probably at no fault of the law.

i think people are the same wherever you go, there is good and bad. in marriage people tend to take one another for granted after a while and i think that is a major contributing factor for failed marriages around the world, even here in south africa. when men feel neglected and taken for granted they seek that attention elsewhere. when a woman feels it she tends to nag, remember mens' faults and make long mental lists of them. in any culture there are a kaleidoscope of personalities, strong, liberated personalities are not only common to american women.

no. the same thing happens when somebody gets into a fight with a Black person; they become racist. They will soon discover the flaws of other cultures then complain about those.

It's hard to lose control over something ... if they've had that control since the beginning of time.
