it depends on the type of gun you are getting. There are semi autos and bolt actions that have a tubular magazine that you open, and drop in rounds from the top. Also there are both semi autos and bolt actions that have a detactable box magazine, these you load separately from the firearm, then place into the firearm. With both styles you then have to work the action manually to bring the first round into the chamber. Then you are ready to rock and roll. Good Shooting

Depends on the make and model. The Ruger uses a removable box magazine (somtimes called a rotary magazine in this model) which holds ten bullets loaded by pressing each one down into the mag. Others use a tubular magazine in the stock or forearm. A spring loaded rod is removed and the cartridges are dropped into the tube one by one. Bolt action & semi-auto .22 rifles are available with both the box magazine and the tubular magazine. Both work fine but with the box magazine you can order an extra one and have a spare. With the tubular magazine it is critical that you drop each bullet facing the right direction. If the tubular magazine is in the stock the bullets face forward. If it is in the forearm the bullets drop base (bottom) first.

Good luck and remember, safety first. Never point a gun at anything you are not willing to destroy.

For .22LR, the value distinction for bolt as against semi-vehicle is amazingly little. which ones to get - it is going to be stressful to respond to because of the fact each significant rifle maker make the two semi-vehicle and bolt action .22LR type, which contain Ruger. the appropriate thank you to bypass approximately it incredibly is to truthfully guard one and spot the way it suits you - the size of pull will count to you lots greater desirable than something. check out Ruger, Marlin, and Savage - just to call some sturdy ones. i'm no longer in California, yet you will get an honest .22LR for between $250 and $4 hundred the place I stay. i must be incorrect, yet i assumed prolonged magazines weren't accessible in California so the main important ability magazine you will get would be the ten around magazine. nevertheless, all you're able to do use carry greater desirable mags. in case you quite prefer a .22LR that's positive, yet i for my section want a huge high quality while coping with wild animals even a coyote. have you ever think approximately possibly a .243 or there abouts?

One bullet at a time goes into the magazine (not the clip). A single shot gun only holds one bullet at a time into the chamber. In a bolt action or a semi-auto, one loading can be done for from 5 to 50 or 75 shots.

Bound's hubby here:

"H" is absolutely correct.

WIthout knowing the make or model of the .22 that you are getting, we can not be more precise in how to load your rifle. This is where you must ask the seller of the gun how to load the rifle.

Good luck and be safe.
