its kind of dagerouse to pull the bullet on a 22 rimfire ....that being said i have mabe blanks by pulling the bullet and replaceing it with a small warm ball of candle wax. if you want weaker 22lr ammo check out aguilla ammo, also you can just by CB long ammo at most outdoors stores, it is around 500fps (reg. 22lr ammo shoots around 1200-1600fps.) .be safe and good luck

Yes, but it isn't safe. The .22 shell is pretty much as is. It can't be re-loaded and if you want something weaker you can buy the short or long rather than the long rifle ammo.
Lead is toxic and .22 shells are loaded with lead bullets coated with copper which is also a toxic heavy metal. Once you've uncapped the bullet it is hard to get it back on right.

Why?? Want a weaker bullet, get some .22 shorts. Putting different projectiles in the case is dangerous. You could damage your gun, or yourself.
Is my imagination or do all the really strange questions get asked late at night???

Um, if you want to do that, I wouldn't be surprised to see you on the news the next day.
Unless you are an expert reloader, you shouldn't mess with rimfire cartridges, espeically the .22 LR.
I've taken bullets apart with pliers but that's about it, and there really isn't anything special about bullets taken apart, either.

AXE,why r u doin that? not 2 insult u but....your pretty stupid for doin that.1 u could blow off a finger or 2. 2.u could kill yourself. there has been a documented case of a boy who hit a cartide (.22) with a hammer 2 get the bellet out and there was a hang fire that lasted f 1 second, and in that one second, it did a 180 degree turn and went off into his stomach barley missing his intestines. and three you could damage or hurt someone or someones property. DONT do it!

that is just not a smart thing to do.
i know a guy nicknamed "nine fingers Mike" that tried it and i did not work out well. a .22 calibre is a small cartridge but it is a controlled explosion. best thing is not to play with them.
