What's wrong with being who I am?

Question

I don't really care, about God(s). I don't really know if they exsist or not and I couldn't care less.

I'm happy with who I am. I don't need to have faith in God(s) to be able to get up in the morning, to be able to deal with all the bad or good in my life.

So why is it, that when people find out about my being gay, that they immediatly try to change me, somehow convinced that I'm unhappy with my life, and that I simply MUST be saved, because if not then SURELY I will go to hell...

Never mind the fact that I've never cheated on someone, or never killed anyone. Nope. I'm a sinner.

But enough ranting, my question is: What's wrong with being who I am? Why do I have to change everything I believe in, everything I am, just so I can get into 'heaven'?

Why do people insist on changing me, when I'm perfectly HAPPY with who I am? It just...it kind of bugs me, sometimes, ya know? Why can't people ever just look past the label?

i don't think being gay has anything to do with it. people who live their life in fear of a a higher being's wrath lik to spread that fear to others in fear that they will be punished if they don't get others to follow them too. haha sorry for that to sound so sarcastic, i was being serious. if someone feels like "god" or prayer helps them in their life..great! so can positive thought and that doesn't involve religion..neither is Karma..it's just a belief people use to keep themselves from doing bad things..in fear or retribution. I am like you..does it exist? who cares? why can't we all live happy and be ourselves? if god does exist? why are little buses full of nuns and children hit by trains? just a thought! so just be yourself....life goes by too fast to worry about what happens afterwards...and to spend you whole lofe worrying what people think now...peple who belie in god and have shitty lives think it's god's will, people with shitty lives who don't believe call it bad luck..hey maybe we all believe smoething...but we don't have to make other believe our crap too! :)

The Bible clearly states that the act of homosexuality is an abomination and a disgrace in the eyes of the lord. I realise that it has become the norm to accept even applaud homosexuality, but i am a Christian and it will never be right God did not make you 'Gay' otherwise he would not condemn your lifestyle.
The Bible clearly states that men give themselves over to their evil desires now don't get your knickers in a knot I'm not saying YOU are evil I'm saying what you are doing is a sin. We are all sinners and must repent and accept Jesus.
Maybe the people that are "trying to change you" understand that this is not where your life ends that after this life we don't simply turn into dust. We have to live for eternity those people are trying to save your soul. You may think this heaven and Hell deal is none-sense, but what if its not?

I kinda know how you feel. I'm a Daemonolatress, meaning I worship Daemons. I get the same thing. I'm constantly told I don't know how to love, they tell me how lost and unhappy I am, and how full of hate I am. None of that is true in the least. You should not have to change for the comfort of others. If you are happy with you - that's really all that matters. I hope we all live to see the day when we can look past the labels and accept people as they are.

There are two issues involved in becoming a Christian.
First, if you want all your sins to be forgiven, to have eternal life and to go to heaven all you have to do is to believe in your heart for Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior. You are not required to change your behavior. This means you cannot enjoy other God's blessings for your life.
Second, if you also want to live His promise of abundant life and be His disciple then you got to change to be like Jesus by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit in you.
So the choice is up to you. Many Christians are living defeated lives because they have not embraced and lived out the second requirement wholeheartedly with God.

Are you really happy? If you were those jack holes wouldn't get to you. They just don't understand it when people look inward for meaning instead to the sky. That shakes their belief system to the core so they feel the need to rescue you. Either way they are the ones who are really insecure and need to be saved because they are sheep and not independent thinkers. The fact that you ask what is wrong with you lets me know that you care about what mindless sheep think and that is the real think worng with you.

Hey! calm down! You are much aware of your choice. It really is no one's business as to being who you are,be yourself. Do not be intimidated by the ignorant remarks of self righteous otherwise you will be playing into their game of trying to put you on a guilt trip. unwarranted harassment. You have free will and choice.
Your first sentence reminds me of when I was pulled over by our finest?( in the days of yor,he would have let me go with a warning) being 2:00am at a 4 way lighted intersection,I sat at that red light long enough to search for a pack of smokes,open the pack,light one up. the light still being red my patients grew short and a car pulled up behide me. It appeared he was aware of the situation. I then decided to just go through the red lights, no cars were in sight other than one behind me. the red lights continued to be red and went on and on. Of course, I was pulled over I did not know he was an officer. I said to the officer that no cars where coming at all and you know how long we were there. he then said " it is the cars you do not see that will get you". I could not help myself and asked "where is it I can purchase a car that cannot be seen?" He did not see any humor as most officers do not these day's. I knew a ticket was coming forth. So.. Let it go and and leave them with a warning, tell them to stay away if they persist the law will be on your side.

i am a muslim. let me clarify my belief for you. our quran says do not be haste in the religion. this means allow men to be what they want to be in this life. religion is not something forced on people. for any religious person no matter what you believe would know that being who you are is your choice. it is a given right by allah all mighty. (god) if you choose to take the word of god then good if you choose not to then that is on you, there should never be any force in it. if you do not believe in the day of judgement then that is entirely up to you. i look past the label. as long as you treat me with respect i will return the favor. how ever i do not agree with your life style. but i am sureof one thing that only god knows what the future has instored for you. as far as me telling you what to do with your life that is not my place. nor is it any one elses.

Because people are stupid. I am a Christian and I have several gay friends. I know that I can't change someone, I do pray for my friends. At the end of the day, you have to be happy with who you are.

If you were sitting on the bank of a swift river with a beautiful waterfall just up ahead and had a pile of life preservers right by your chair and I floated by with my whole family and we were laughing and playing in the water and we were very happy, would you just continue sitting in your chair or would you get up and start yelling "DANGER" and thowing life preservers in the water?? If you could just sit there and watch us happily tumble over the falls to our imminent death, you are not going to understand our answers to your question--we are not that sort of people. Some of us would even be jumping in to save people. That is just the way we are. Too bad it offends you to have someone concerned for your welfare.
