feel like possible signs would include a rebuilding of a Jewish temple in Jerusalem, increased hostility towards Israel, and advances toward a one-world government. The most prominent sign of the end times, however, is the nation of Israel.

Yes, that all seems accurate to me...In addtion there are other signs...some good and some bad....which include things such as: The gospel preached to the whold world, The Lost Tribes of Israel will return, The New Jerusalem will be built, signs in heaven, the sun shall be darkened and the moon turned to blood, many false prophets and false Christs, earthquakes, hailstorms, wars and rumors of war, hate, diseases (a desolating scourge), 2 prophets prophesying in Jerusalem (will be killed and lay in the streets...then God will call them and they will rise up into heaven), Armageddon....
etc...some of these are taking place already....and some are yet to come.

Honestly, because of the efforts of the U.S. and Western Europe in the 20th Century (excluding recent activities), the world is more stable and a better place in general. There are still a lot of problem areas, but overall, people live better today then at any other point in human history. By this standard, end-times is being pushed farther and farther off.

Today's most prominent sign of the end of times are the Religious Fundamentalists who will one day have the "Islamic Bomb" and are saying, "Convert or die".

Let's see Christian have been claiming "it's the end of times" for about 2,007 years now. Maybe someday you'll be right...who knows? I have no doubt that sooner or later a religious nut with a nuke mumbling on about God's will, will indeed destroy humanity someday.
