the part I am concerned with is the temporary part, and the fact that thought we say something is wrong now it will not be later, because it means nothing, no absolute wrong or right, winning or losing.

You mean without Satan. Adam and Eve knew nothing of Good and Evil - and therefore morality - until Satan showed them.

Whether God or another human said "Do unto others as you would they do unto you" does not effect the moral sense of the statement.
I understand that some believe that it is only the enforceability by God which makes them obey but others choose intellectually this path rather than having it forced upon them.
If the Bible existed solely as a moral code without the existence of a God it would still define right and wrong, good and evil. Societies without God still have strong moral codes without fear of punishment enforcing them.

The "true sense" of evil occurs when people experience by a relatively large degree, the sum of the accumulation of all his or her sins proportionately, as a consequence for living in a worldly system that ultimately, breaks down and the human survival mode "kicks-in" ! The human race encounters the cumulative effects of a world living apart from a relationship with its Creator !
Ignorance meets self-reliance !!!

Without God, right or wrong, good and evil have no meaning. How does one define evil in the absence of God? Nothing would be right, nothing would be wrong. These words wouldn't even make sense as there would be no universal definition. If there were no God, then even the words "right", "wrong", "good", Evil" would not exist. They would just be meaningless gibberish. The very fact that we can conceive of such notions as these is evidence of what the Bible says about our consciesness of God, that He has written his laws on our hearts. A knowledge of good and evil cannot exist without God.

Just peer outside your own box to the other side of the world where many people live a good, moral existence without belief in a god - one billion Chinese do not have a faith based belief in a god; do you suppose that they are all evil?

Why would you think it is necessary to have a father figure tell you what is right and wrong and threaten you with the ultimate carrot and stick if you break any of his rules?

Aren't you man or women enough to KNOW what is right and wrong and act accordingly simple because it is the correct thing to do without the threat of punishment or promise of reward?

That, IMHO, is the sign of a mature, adult human being.

It's wrong to steal, murder, or cheat no matter what your religious background is. Even atheists and antitheists know this.

These things degrade our society. If we want our offspring to survive in a better world we need to protect that society.

What happened before man developed the concept of "God?" If he saw you stealing his mammoth meat he'd beat with a club because he knew what you were doing was wrong. He didn't need a book to see that.

Good and bad are just human perceptions. Someone you love dies - it's bad. A distant uncle dies and you inherit a million dollars - not so bad. You drop your rent cash on the ground and someone takes it - bad. You find enough money for your rent on the ground - not so bad.

Yes, there can and is. We can all thank mother nature for our build in moral compasses.

(Hypothetically: Are you saying you would be a murderer if it weren't for your belief in God? That makes you a suckup, not a genuinely moral person.)

What is fascinating to me is that countries that claim a population that believes strongly in God commit more violent crime than countries that don't.
