the first thing you need to do before u start to write and read english is to learn how to speak in English. I think its the most important. The way to learn it is to higher a teacher to teach you it or try to learn it over the internet. Once you no how to talk English, you will notice it is really easy and then you should learn how to write in English. So the key to learning English is to higher someone to teach you the language or viist a country where they only talk English and you will get use to the words. For example; visit the U.S!!

Grab every single book, magz and what not, that is english.Try to watch english movies and hey you're gonna look funny but it will work, write down the words that you think you do not understand and grab a dictionary, look for the meaning and at least try to use them in a sentence.Who cares if you sound too cocky, you are trying to better yourself. You have to take note of the idiomatic expressions, pronunciation and all that stuff coz believe me, we do have an accent. If you are driven enough in no time at all you will speak english fluently,so much so that everybody will hate you.Good luck with that.

The way I did it (I was 5 at the time): Have English speaking neighbors, try speaking English with them. Read English books, watch English tv.

If that doesn't work for you, you can always try an English course, they're available in levels from beginner's to advanced.

Rosetta Stone is the best computer program i know of to use for language learning. You might want to check it out.

The best way though (if you have the time and money) is to go to an English speaking country and live for some time.

I learned Spanish and found the best way is to speak with other people, friends mainly who will help you in a way that doesn't make you feel silly. I also used to read Spanish comics and kids books for practice.
