- no, it is NOT a pug - it has a curly beard - I have a pug and it does not have a beard... can anyone give me an accurate answer?

I answered before with Pug cross. Here is a Pug-zu. If you scroll and look at some of the puppies, they do have beards. Maybe it was a black pug and a black shih-tzu.

i would have to say some kind of pug cross. they're definitely not affenpinschers because those have long hair and are more scruffy, and the coats of the dogs in the picture look short and smooth (without having been clipped), with the exception of the beards.

I would have to say they are Brussels not Affenpinschers. Someone posted a page with some pics of Brussels, here is a page with pics of the Affenpinscher http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/affenpinscher.htm

Big difference between coats on both breeds, Brussels come in a couple coat types, one with a longer coat and one with a rather smooth coat.

They look like black rough coated griffons, if you strip the coat out, which is what you do for the show ring, then it leaves just a beard.

Could be a Brussels-Griffon, though it's hard to make out the face. http://images.encarta.msn.com/xrefmedia/sharemed/targets/images/pho/t043/T043376A.jpg (they do come in black, too)

Do a google image search, they do look a lot like pugs.

I thought Affenpinscher first, but I don't think they're hairy enough to be that, now that I look more closely...
