i need to get a passport before april 8th because i am going to france for 10 days. the site says it will take up to 8 weeks, but april 8th is in 6 weeks and a few days... does anyone know if i could get my passport before april 8th if i apply tomorrow, or does anyone have any recent passport experince they could share? that would help a lot.

i dont really want to pay 60 extra dollars to get it rushed to me in two weeks if i dont have to

I would suggest that you pay the extra $60 to get your passport, right now because of the new regulations there are so many people applying for passports, it may be longer then 8 weeks and you want to insure you have it before you travel.

Think of the $60 as insurance that you will be able to take your trip as planned.

Right now, passport applications are heavy, so I would pay the expedite fee and get it over with.

Have fun on your trip.

I understand that it is expensive, but spring for the $60. The passport office is backlogged. My colleague sent his in for renewal, and it took several weeks longer than the website had said it would take. When he called, they told him that they were behind schedule.

WOW you should rush it if you need it that fast.

If you don't you risk not getting your passport in time.
