Do you think it is effective enough to come ahead and volunteer to get ourselves engaged in the media activities?

If we do, their (media) primary goal is to make the news spicy by involving those issues which may not be necessary to show public the tru picture, but to serve their own purpose.

Please advise…

I do understand your anger and fears of what comes ahead. I'd address this problem with some logic--and have the TV news media shine the light on those who can help you......to see if they do.

Public figures--espicially those responsible for making the school closure decisions--don't much like TV news reporters; elected public figures who get TV exposure, seeking help for you are under pressure from voters to help this poor soul out......something I think may work in your favor.

When all else fails, call the local TV station "Action Reporter" for help.

I would feel I have been ripped off, but I also will do what Mr.Wizard mentioned above.
