Chi: As a Christian, I want to say that a Christian is not to ill-treat any human ! Although many, who claim the title of "Christian" are either, very spiritually, immature or are not really Christian at all [Atheist or gnostic] , many people dislike the Muslim faith because the lack of protest against the Muslim Terrorist acts ! some people hate them because of the lack of tolerance for others, who are not Muslim and live in the Muslim Countries. Some Christians feel ostracized by Muslims because of the persecution, which goes on in places like Arabia and Malaysia. Yes; some Christians have some very, bad theology and have hurt others with it too, as history reveals! Personally; I have a Muslim friend and we get along fine. We can discuss our religious views openly and honestly without getting in a hugh snit about it too - God bless the freedoms we have here, in North America !!!

I think there's a critical difference here. First....I'm NOT Christian....nor am I especially fond of their history....but the idiot Christian fanatics are LOUDLY condemned by the other groups. The idiots yelling gay insults at the soldier's funerals are among the most hated men in the nation. They are a fringe.
Even in this forum.....when people go really far out of line...or say something off the wall....other people I consider radical fundamentalist Christians will condemn them. The Christian community acknowledges and deals with its extremists.
That just isn't the case with Islam. I keep hearing about this silent moderate Islamic majority....but i sure as hell never hear them speak! Especially in the mid-east.
In the mid0-east Saudi Arabia is considered a moderate country. SAUDI ARABIA!!! Take a look at the human rights record of the Saudis. Look at their religious oppression. That's a moderate Islamic society????
With all due respect look at how many Islamic Governments are in some way funding, harboring, or supporting some form of terrorism, or war against infidels. Pakistan, Iran (Bush cried wolf....that doesn't mean Iran is innocent), Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Indeonesia.......it's insane.
Every nation that has a sizable Muslim population seems to suffer terrorism from that population to a larger or smaller degree. Russia, China, India, Israel (although it isn't the Israeli arabs that are doing it), Turkey.
We aren't talking the exceptions like with the IRA, or the KKK, or Timothy Mcveigh. How many people in this room make excuses for the IRA (and the IRA was always FAR more humaine and selective about targets)?
I have yet to see a single...not one...ONE....Muslim in this forum acknowledge that Islam has been a very poor neighbor to other nations, and that there are things about that culture and society that need to change. NOT ONCE.
I have seen Muslims talk about Israeli oppression...but when confronted with things their people have done, it's a deny, deny, deny, rationalize game.
They want to be accepted in other cultures...but in most of their cultures you are an infidel, and not to be accepted, or allowed prayer, etc.
Their treatment of women...which is disgusting...is not universal...but it does take place in FAR more nations then it should. Iran, Saudi, Afghanistan for years....that is MONSTROUS.
The actions and speaches of their mullahs....in their lands and abroad.....are outrageous.
Until this supposed moderate Islamic majority takes its religion away from the extremists, I see no reason for them to be accepted in world culture. I am not talking about discrimination for the individual. I am merely talking about how we view them as a society. There is NEVER any excuse for discrimination against anyone.
I have had 4 Muslims explain to me in detail how Iran wasn't really funding slaughter in Sudan, how Iranian Jews were really treated quite well (Israel brokered the Hiostage deal to get Jews out,.....I wonder why that was done?)....and how no Arab mistreated, or oppressed, other cultures and religions before the current Israeli situation.
The problem with that is that it's all a lie. Until their supposed moderates come to grips with what the extremists are DOING.....I think it's a sham.
If most Muslims are moderates, why are the protocols of the elders of zion a best seller throughout the mid east?
There has been no majority Christian nation in the last 60 years that has behaved that way.

It is bigotry to castigate a group of people for the actions of a few.
Although we cannot blame all Muslims for Islamic terrorism, the teachings of Islam are culpable in the matter. IMHO, this is in stark contrast to your question about Christians. His name is harmed by those who claim His name but defy His teachings.

Such contention is utterly fallacious and inadmissible. It is actuated solely by arrogance and pride. Its motive is to lead the people astray from the Ridvan of divine good-pleasure and to tighten the reins of their authority over the people. And yet, in the sight of God, these common people are infinitely superior and exalted above their religious leaders who have turned away from the one true God. The understanding of His words and the comprehension of the utterances of the Birds of Heaven are in no wise dependent upon human learning. They depend solely upon purity of heart, chastity of soul, and freedom of spirit. This is evidenced by those who, today, though without a single letter of the accepted standards of learning, are occupying the loftiest seats of knowledge; and the garden of their hearts is adorned, through the showers of divine grace, with the roses of wisdom and the tulips of understanding. Well is it with the sincere in heart for their share of the light of a mighty Day!

No it would be a misuse of the word "neighbor"
"you shall love the lord with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength, and like unto it, your neighbor AS YOURSELF"
----so in summary, not unless you blame yourself first
