If you were a social worker with one million dollars to open a rehab. center for teens or young adults who never got to deal with past abuse, what would it have and how would you run it? Would you charge their parents, would it be free and confidential, let me know!

it would be really nice to run a charity work for abused children, they are minors ,can not afford for their therapy, and they were not the cause of their problems, furthermore the damage resulted are long lasting and they deserve it.
i think you should work with one of the NGOs for better results.

Hi NeferTT,

If I was a social worker with one million dollars. I would find and use what works best and fastest for the teens. The best and quickest way for adults (I'm not sure about kids or teens) to put abuse past them is to use a type of therapy called EMDR it stands for Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing. I have had it done myself and it works. It is one of the only things that works for patience with Post Tramatic Stress Disorder.

The body has a phyical memory and remembers trama. After I had this done I felt like a huge wieght was lifed off of my shoulders and felt mentally tons better.

As far as if I would charge them, I would keep it as miniumal as possible, and would try to have the state give a grant to offest the cost. Remember yours still going to have insurance and bills to pay like rent for the building. Legally I don't know if you can keep it confidential. State laws very; ask a Lawer the know the laws inside and out. This is one law you will have to know to protect yourself.

My heart goes out to you. We need more good caring souls out there making a difference in peoples lifes.

Sincerely signed,
Buster

I would probably charge a fee, but maybe on a sliding scale so that ppl who don't have a high income can still afford to get the therapy and I'd accept insurance.. things like that.

The best way for anyone to heal from abuse at any stage in life is to confront the problem if possible and then to accept the effects then move on.

I would charge a fee on a sliding scale which is based on the family income or the individual income if the patient didn't have insurance. Of course it would be confidential. All therapy is legally confidential.
