Have some water. I'd go with warm water, and make it two full glass of it if very hungry. And then go brush my teeth. This actually reduces temptation to eat anything.

I keep a little snack bag with some thing in it like raisin or peanuts. I know that it's a bad habit, but I get sooooooo hungry that I feel like i would never make it out to the kitchen. I noticed that when I eat dinner earlier in that night like before seven then I don't get hungry in the middle of the night.

I just go back to sleep. I wait until eating time. They say you should never eat past 4pm. It's not healthy. Some people do though, as they cannot sleep on an empty stomach. Now, if it's around 11pm or so and I'm hungry I might have a munchie, but I'm going to try to get out of that because it's not healthy.

Try to balance your meals more evenly throughout the day include snacks. Try NOT to skip meals during the day. If you do decide to eat later at night try to stay awake for atleast 1 hour after the meal to allow the food to start to properly digest. Trying to break the cycle is hard. Not eating is better. A glass of water does help. I use to want pancakes at 3am. The only difference now is that I still want them sometimes but don't always eat them at 3am anymore. It's hard

Get a drink of water. Your body is likely thirsty and the only way it knows how to express that is "Hungry"

Have some chocolate handy by your bed, and eat that when you want a midnight snack. Or have some milk.
