As a Christian who just spent a few days communicating with fundamentalist anti-Masons, I am happy to get back here! As much as I would like to defend all stripes of Christianity and promote ecumenical unity among all faiths and non-faiths, I am starting to see your point.

Anyway, no real question here. But, for any sticklers, here goes:
Why do Christians call themselves "the First Fruits"? I thought the First Fruits were the ancient Greeks...
(cf. James 1:18)

DUDE -
First, nice to see you back! I was starting to wonder.
Second, a good number of Christians would consider me an atheist. I am actually closer to a cross between a Deist and a Pantheist, if that helps...

Silly rabbit. If you are trying to say that the Greeks 'invented' homosexuality you are being very naive. Homosexuality has been a part of the fabric of humanity ever since people's stories were written down. There were cultures more ancient than the Greeks who understood that same-sex love was nothing more than a thread in the tapestry of the life of love.

Yes, I know.

And the pre-Christian Ancient Rome offered First Fruits also

In that verse James doesn't specifically say he is referring to Christians as the first fruits. When he says "we" and "us", he could be referring to the human race. I think that is at least a possible interpretation.

LOL-I always wonder why those who ascribe fantastic power to freemasons don't try to join. Anti-mason types obviously lack ambition!
