Suppose you are in conversation with somebody, with a whole lot of people in a room just milling around and talking to somebody. Suppose further that you and the person you are talking to have both run out of things to say to each other, and you want to walk away so you can strike up a conversation with somebody else. What is the most polite way to communicate your intentions to the person you are talking to?

just fart, and tell them that you need to walk around or people will start getting suspicious.

Well, you can use the liine " Hey, do you know where the bathroom is? I need to use it." then depart with"all right, well, I will see ya later." Or a favorite of mine, I always have a phone number of a friend who is also there in as the last number called for a blocker. Keep the phone in your pocket, when you need to get out of the conversation hit the send button(twice for my phone), the friend will conveniently slip somewhere unoticeable and call you back. Make the excuse that you really need to take this call and bingo!

hm, actually I also have problems with that stuff. But I just normally smile andsay, "excuse me" and then do the thing I have to do. I always remember to wear a smile during conversations as such.

You can tell the person that you have enjoyed the conversation, but you must go now as the person you were waiting on has arrived.

it's believe to break up a conversation is to make a legitimate accuse. Sometimes you can just stop talking to the other person who make you feel uncomfortable.

There is no polite way because they don't stop talking long enough to listen to you. Just walk away.

Say, "It was really nice talking to you" Then go do some weird task like grab another egg roll or wash your hands.

Just point into a really crowded spot, and say, "Hey, I think I see my friend over there. Nice talking to you, bye!" and scurry off...

depends on the situation, but I would probably just say that it was nice to talk and I'm going to continue my mingling....nothing wrong with that!
