Hi Lawrence ndl,
I am not a professional counciler, but have had years of experiance of helping others and have been abused myself and I'm senitive to others that are hurting or in emotional pain.
When ever I hear someone say what you said ealier; it tells me that that person has has some trama to include abuse in their life. The best thing you can do for yourself is seek professional counciling. The last thing you want from being stressed out is ulsurs; I know I got myself so stressed out a few years ago that I started to get physically sick.
A good counciler will give you skills to cope with things that are bothering you and help you deal with things that your confused about. Becareful about taking someone's advise on here for something of what your going through. What ever it is that your going through you need someone to help you over come it.
Hang in there things will get better.

Other than the obvious self esteem, anger management and manic depression I think your more-so on the normal spectrum of human nature. Well at least from the lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year not willing to make changes to overcome and adapt.
Like one of the other responders said... Time for a Mind Specialist. Have you considered Hypnosis?

Get some exercise, talk to some people, read a bit, STAY BUSY, and you will not be able to call yourself those things.

Nobody on here can answer that - and they certainly can't answer it based on one sentence.
Generalized anxiety disorder, substance abuse, depression - and many other things come to mind.

When I feel anxious, upset, restless, confused, angry and hostile in life. I put my faith in God the father and the Son Jesus Christ who died on the cross for me and in three day rose again from the dead, showing to all of us without hope that there is life after death. God inspires me because he loves me and you! Know We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed! (2 Cor. 4:8-9)The Bible says: God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) I love to know in my heart and soul that I am loved and valued! I love to know that Jesus died for me so I could one day have heaven! You see Jesus was flogged or beaten over 40 times, as Jesus stood silent, he was humiliated, degraded, mocked, striped naked, had jammed a crown of thorns on this head and was then nailed to a cross only after he had walked nearly a mile with a heavy crossbeam to his back! Why? You ask: The Bible answers that? For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in his steps, Jesus who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in his mouth; and while being reviled, he did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting himself to him who judges righteously. (1 Peter 2:21-23) Christ hung on the cross for six hours before he died, He was there from nine in the morning until three in the afternoon. In spite of such enormous discomfort and indescribable pain, Jesus ONLY spoke words of genuine forgiveness to those who affiliated so much pain and anger to him! From the cross Jesus Spoke: "Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing." What? I know if that where me I would be very angry and hostile, as I think anybody would! and I would surely not be forgiving men for doing all that to me! But, the fact is the Jesus was God in Human form so Jesus was and is perfect, he died for are imperfectness, sin and are anger! I don't know about you but that really cheers me up and drives me to be the best I can because the fact is I can NEVER pay the full price for what God has already payed in full for Me! That is why I know when I get nervous and sad about life, I give it to Jesus! And he always comes though! I have dealt with depression and the one thing that really turned my life around was: 1. Knowing that God and Jesus Loved me and I was valued! 2. Knowing I had people on my side at church, in my social life and in my family that cared about me! and 3. I had to get myself out of the atmosphere that I was in! If all you do is stay in the darkness thinking about how it is never going to get better and think why life is not worth living. Than your going to be proving yourself right and it will not get better! I found out No matter how hard I tried or what means I used--material possessions, money, pleasure, drugs, etc...the emptiness was still there. But, if you build a personal relationship with other people and most importantly a relationship with God! Then you will see yourself back with a renewed joy! God loves us, and He wants to come into our lives and give us a joy and peace that you could never experience in any other way. Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you" John 14:27. God created you, and God loves you. His only Son, Jesus Christ, loved you so much that he gave His life on the cross so you could be saved and break free from in perfectness, sin and this depression to become a child of God. I encourage you to give Jesus all your worries and burdens. When you accept Jesus Christ into your life, something wonderful and supernatural happens. God Himself comes to dwell within you! You become part of His family, and you can know the joy of His presence every day. Pray right now and I encourage you reading this to invite Jesus into your heart. Once I was so sad because I felt life had no purpose, no inspiration or Hope and the only way am still alive is because my faith in Jesus saved me and he showed me the better life I could be living if only I put my faith and trust in Him. I encourage you to read a bible right now! Start with the gospel of John! There you will find a story of a man named John the Baptist that paved the way for another man named Jesus that loves you and will bring you guidance and hope to your life, if you look to him and follow him for your life's answers instead of yourself. I can't stress enough how I know what the lows of life might give us but I also know God knows too and we really need a change of atmosphere in our lives, to get ourselves out of the darkness of doubt, no purpose and try to meet new inspiring and motivated people! Where can you meet such people you ask? A lot of Church's have small groups, support groups and some even have single groups. So, I would encourage you to do that because it wasn't till I started putting Jesus first before myself that my life started to get better, I had a whole new image of myself and I started to see how much I was really loved and valued in God's eyes.I tell you today you have so much to offer! I leave you with a passage from the bible that started to pull me out of the darkness and into the light: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make all your paths straight. Prov. 3:5-6. So, You need I pick me up! My diagnosis YOU NEED JESUS! I would encourage you to Go to Jesus in prayer! ask him to lead your heart so you may trust him that everything will be all right and the next step you take will be right in line with what he wants for you in life, and what life is suppose to be like in serving him! In Jesus Name Amen
In Addition, I would also like to recommend two great books to you that really cheered me up! 1. Joel Osteen's: Your Best Life Now, 7 steps to living at your full potential: 2004 2. Rick Warren's: The Purpose Driven Life: 2002.
God Bless you all in your walk with life!
