The parts of the Autobahn that are unrestricted are predominantly the 3 lane sections between junctions. For about 2 km before and after junctions the speed is rigorously enforced with cameras at these points.
As for an experience "legal" speeding is a great experience however it requires a huge amount of concentration. With some cars travelling at speeds in excess of 150 mph they approach you so fast you have to be very very carefull when pulling out to overtake.Sitting in the outside lane is frowned upon so are speeds above 120mph.
As a statistical fact most accidents on Autobahns involve foreigners driving beyond their abilities.
I personally was clocked at 121mph(196kph) by a Traffic cop in my van but I was over taken by another van who was doing 130 mph.
So if they have vans that do 130+ i would seriously consider taking a Ferrari.

Only certain parts of an autobahn are de-restricted, much of the network has a 130kph limit (about 80mph) The biggest danger is the trucks! Truck A doing 60 wants to overtake truck B doing 50. If you're lucky he'll look in his mirror, see that you're about half a mile behind him & pull out, not realising (or caring) that you're doing a gazillion miles an hour. This happened to me at an indicated 165mph in a BMW540. I stood on the brake pedal so hard, my foot still hurt the next day. If it hadn't been for the Beemer's ABS, Stability Control & all the other gubbins designed to protect idiots from themselves (like me), I'd have been smeared all across the rear end of one of Mr. Volvo's finest!! Be careful out there!

Not all parts of the Autobahn are limit free, but most are, and you still wouldn't be able to fully flex the fastest because of traffic and bends in the road, but you sure can give the best go.

Road surface can be poor in some places as surface may be concrete slabs. However fast you go there will always be a merc charging up your a**e and expecting you to get out of the way. Some areas speed limited eg around important junctions. Law assumes that at above 85mph you are at least partly responsible if any incident. There aren't any accidents, always someone at fault

It is not the speed as much as the driving experience. Autobahn is at least one meter deep which should give you an unparallelled smooth driving pleasure experience. Enjoy!

you don't want to employ a huge vehicle, alot of autobahs are in trouble-free terms 2 lanes and characteristic a % limkit of about 80 mph, so do no longer difficulty on the better sections people docontinual at 100 and fifty mph, keep a beware on your rearview reflect Munich continually has site visitors jams so no concerns about %

In some parts you can go as fast as you want, in other places there are restrictions and I believe that there are blanket restrictions if the weather is poor (i.e. rain, snow or fog etc).
The following web page will tell you more:

Its OK, everyone likes to do 135mph on cruise (believe me its wicked) however.... it requires massive amounts of concentration and is only practical for short periods, after which if found it easier to cruise at 95mph as its alot less intense
