It is based upon the premise that what we think influences
how we feel, behave, and react physiologically
to our environment.
You need to practice thinking positively and should have a safety net like Xanax to have with you. Xanax works to stop anxiety so well and quickly that just knowing you have it with you may be enough to stave off an attack.

Hi Summer r,
Cognitive behavior is (how we think about things) (thought behavior) I am not a professional conciler, but know alot about anxiety because I used to expericiance it a my self. I am also familar with helping others with panic attacks being that my ex-wife to be used to suffer from them alot and I helped her pull get past them. From my life experiances and how I have been able to help others I am more than willing to help you if you are interested. My e-mail address it D_Heyman1@Yahoo.com
One think I want to leave you with that has helped me out alot is when ever you start having problems with anxiety or panic attacks, change what your thinking about. This defuses the suffering you are going through and will help you feel better a lot quicker then medication. This method is not majic and will take some work on your part but you can do this. The more you do it the less you will experiance anxiety and panic attackes. By all means if medication works for you and you need it, than take it. For me it did not work.
Hang in there things will get better.
Sincerely,
Buster

I suffer from anxiety and depression! Boy, does it suck!! I take 2 antidepressants at night and I take lorazapam or zanax for my anxiety. I some times know why I am having anxiety and other times it just sneaks up on me and I don't know why I have an anxiety attack. For me it is usually sparked by a doctors visit. I am diabetic for 20+ years and I am having some health problems as well as vision problems and it seems like every time I go to the doctor they always have some thing bad to say! Good luck to you and I would suggest therapy and medication if neccesary.

Therapy is the first thing that comes to mind. I have anxiety attacks all the time. It really depends on what triggers you. School triggered me in some weird way. So, I had to take a year off for therapy and meds. Find out what triggers you, so you can learn how to deal with that thing/situation. If you need more help, email me, or IM me. eileenprince @ sbcglobal .net

I have anxiety and panic to but not as as much as I use to I'm now in therapy and on meds. I talk about what bother me and what trigger my attacks. wants you find out what trigger your attack then u have a better chance in stopping it before u have the actually attack. when I feel attack coming on I take deep breathes and focus on some good or something that make me happy.

if the diagnosis is made by a psychiatrist, then drug therapy or psychotherapy will be needed.
CBT or cognitive-behavioral therapy is a way to re-shape or modulate the way of thinking to a healthy pattern.
