My temporary green card (obtained from marry a us citizen) will expire in mid May 2007. My husband and I will go out to travel and be back by the end of April. Is that OK? Will they let me back to US? Thanks.

I wouldn't do it. You do not know what problems you can face. Stay safe in the USA.

Apply for a Permanent Green Card and when leaving the USA always carry your valid Passport.
Note: There is no legal reason why you should apply for Naturalization.

In theory, they should. However, with the love of my life, I would not take that chance. Apply for the naturalization and get the expiration removed. I forget the name of the form, but call INS or go on their website and find it. Ask them also the question you asked us.

for emergencies, the philippine embassy (or any consular workplace in the USA) can expedite passport renewal (interior of 24 hours). there is extra fee yet a minimum of you have peace of concepts. you won't be in a position to pass everywhere without a valid passport.
