I am 6'3" and 175lbs and have been lifting off and on for a few years. I've determined that I really need to add some supplements to my diet in order to add muscle as muscle building isn't easy for me. I think my lean body type is hereditary as my grandfather had the same build as me his entire life.

I tried creatine and don't like how it makes me feel. What are some other options for me? I really want to to get into a serious routine and make dramatic changes over the next year or two.

Thanks in advance.

I agree with Don. I was 6'4" and weighed in at 139 pounds once upon a time. I lifted my way to 255 pounds and it feels great! I used the aforementioned amino acids and weight gainer, plus worked out 4-5 times per week. Trust me, you need to have supplements to maximize your potential. Amino acids are used for muscles, so I'd suggest taking them in small doses throughout the day, then double up at bedtime. As for your hereditary size, I had that too and thought I was going to be bone-skinny for my entire life. I was anorexically skinny until the age of 23. Yes, I may never be as big as I'd like to be, but I am at least happy with where I am now. It took a few years to get the bulk of the size on. Unfortunately, time and exercise are the only safe ways to get the size you want. Good luck!
