Hi, I'm trying to help a friend have a little bit more of an open perspective on things. I'm looking for a book that really shows that Earth and life is not a coincidence and that science can not prove everything.

Stanley Jaki has also done some good works.
These are pretty heavy physicists. For a more fun book, I'd recommend Walker Percy's satirical Lost in the Cosmos: The Last Self-Help Book. Percy shows how Man is a mystery to himself, even if he should come to know every last scientific fact. It's from the 1980s, so it's a bit dated, but fun.

You're looking for a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow; sorry, no pot. Actually, science cannot prove much of anything (with the exception of the theory of evolution, which is provable, and I have done so), but that does not in the least support the notion of supernatural activity. The scientific evidence to support the present ideas of the earth's history is overwhelming. Please see:

You mean a good book showing how earth was carefully placed 150 million km from the sun?
Look in your nearest Sunday school.
That's the only place a book like that should be found.
