First Off Sweetheart know My wife has Bipolar disorder. You are not a freak! You are not abnormal! You can be just as normal as everyone else! It's the way you look at it. If you look at it as a curse than you are not going to be as happy with life as you could be. I would encourage you to look at it as a BLESSING FROM GOD! because you can encourage and educate others and show others that being bi-polar is just different, but at the same time show them how this disorder doesn't effect you because you are still a wonderful and beautiful woman that everyone wants to get to know! The only thing that separates you from the rest is that you must manage and regulate your chemical imbalance in your brain by taking your med's regularly! Other than that YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN ANYBODY ELSE!!!!!<
Know God loves you, and He wants to come into your life and give you a joy and peace that you could never experience any other way. Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you" John 14:27. God created you, and God loves you. His only Son, Jesus Christ, loved you so much that he gave His life on the cross so you could be saved and break free from in perfectness, sin and this manic-depression to become a child of God. Give Jesus all your worries and burdens. When you accept Jesus Christ into your life, something wonderful and supernatural happens. God Himself comes to dwell within you! You become part of His family, and you can know the joy of His presence every day. I to will be praying for you sister because I was too once where you are now and the only way am still alive is because my faith and trust in Jesus saved me and he showed me the better life I could be living if only I put my faith and trust in Him. I encourage you to read a bible. Start with the gospel of John! There you will find a story of a man named John the Baptist the paved the way for another man named Jesus that loves you and will bring you guidance and hope to your life, if you look to him and follow him for your life's answers instead of yourself! I can't stress enough how I know what your going though and you really need a change of atmosphere in your life, and try to meet new people! A lot of Church's have small groups and support groups! So, I would encourage you to do that because it wasn't till I started putting Jesus first before myself that my life started to get better, I had a whole new image of myself and I started to see how much I was really loved and valued in God's eyes. I leave you with a passage from the bible that started to pull me out of the darkness and into the light: TRUST in the Lord with ALL of your heart and lean NOT on your own understanding; in ALL your ways ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, and he will make all your paths straight. Prov. 3:5-6. I would like to recommend two great books to you for finding purpose in your life: 1. Joel Osteen: You Best Life Now: 2004 and 2. Rick Warren: The Purpose Driven Life: 2002. Now I encourage you to Go ahead right now, this minute, pray to Jesus! ask him to lead your heart so you may trust him that everything will be all right and the next step you take will be right in line with what he wants for you in life, and what life is suppose to be like in serving him! In Jesus Name Amen
In addition my wife's email is stacey4lm@yahoo.com, Her name is Stacey if you need farther guidance.

A disorder is something other than the norm, but it's not your fault. Are you being treated for this? I sure hope so.
The people that you speak about in your story disgust me. They need to realize that this is a medical concern. It will not affect your ability to walk a trail. And also, if someone tells that you have a condition to someone who does not need to know it, such as students OR a tour guide, this is a violation of a federal law called HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and they can be prosecuted for this in court.
I don't suggest that you run around suing everyone, but keep this in mind. You're not a freak, you have a medical problem, which should be viewed no different than a broken leg. This condition is absolutely treatable. I would suggest you write me by clicking on my avatar (icon) and I can tell you about my personal experiences dealing with depression, and send you some information and links that may help.

Hi Taylor Rae,
Your not a freak and you need to tell your parents about this. This type of behavior from adults is uncalled for and they can lose there job for it also.
Bipolar is a chemical imblance, that is all. Your not a "bad" person or "wierd" you just wired differently then they are and may act differently then they do. Control it the best that you can, but don't let it control you.
Learn as much as you can about it. Is your medication helping you? or are you resistant to it? Feel free to e-mail me back if you want. My e-mail address is D_Heyman1@Yahoo.com
Things will get better for you, and these people are just plain mean and acting childish at your expense. Besides telling your parents talk, have them file a complain to the Princapal in regards to this or these people.
Best of luck to you.
Sincerely signed by,
Buster

you are NOT a freak! People just do not understand it at all...I myself and 2 of my 3 children are bi-polor. It was very hard for them in school. My daughter had to set out her whole freshman year it got so bad that she would vomit when she even walked up to the doors of the school. my son is 17 and had to withdraw from school shortly after he turned 16 due to it. Often times you will also have social anxiety problems. the schools just do not know how to deal with it. they are not trained to work with kids with these kinds of problems. do NOT be asamed or embrassed about it! See you can find a support group...i bet if you started asking around you'll find that other kids at your school also have it. you should not have to put up with the teasing! report all those asses who do that to you!
Good Luck! :)

You are absolutely NOT a freak. It's because they don't understand, and it's not your job to make them understand. Don't get caught up in that trap because it will only make things worse. You need to stay focused on your mental health and let them worry about their ignorance. If they want to know about us, they can learn on their own. I have bi-polar and now that I've found the right med, and continue my therapy it's all good. I work in the mental health field with dually-diagnosed clients and enjoy my life. So don't let ignorance of others get you down, we can and do get better. Good luck and God bless. Peace

No, it's not abnormal. It's just that everyone has many misconcetions about bipolar. Bipolar is just a chemical imbalance, like Depression.

having a mental disorder does not implicate that you are abnormal,as far as you are on your therapy and on regular touch with your therapist.
what others thinks about bipolar disorder or mental disorder in general is not your fault,it only reflects their degree of insight and civilisation.good luck
