First of all you should know that I'm a Christian. All I have to say is that I don't believe in ghosts, but I believe in spirits, which are two completely different things. Ghosts are technically the souls of those who died staying around on earth, but our souls either go to heaven or hell. Spirits, on the other hand, can take any shape or form, they can be good or bad. So what this means is that a spirit can make itself resemble that of a ghost which can be very confusing. I hope this helped.

The word purgatory is not mention in the Bible. It is a make believe place in which the RC have asserted to its member as a means of another Hell. This type of Hell is where your soul can redeem a relationship with God and ascend in His kingdom.
People try to separate the two meaning of ghost and spirit. They are the same in definition. A ghost suppose to be evil that hunts abandon homes or tavern. Where spirit is normally use by Christian as the Holy Spirit.
God Bless

Like with so many things, purgatory is a Catholic invention. It is not a Bible teaching. What is purgatory? It is the idea that there is a place you can go to purify yourself of your sins before you can enter heaven.
It originated with Greek and pagan philosophy, in particular Plato, and was introduced into the church through Origen in the 3rd Century, who is considered a heretic by the Roman Catholic Church. In addition, the teaching of purgatory is contradictory to Scripture for it undermines its clear teaching of the sufficiency of Jesus Christ and is not taught in the Old and New Testaments.
Purgatory was introduced to the church sometime before the 5th Century.
the Roman Catholic Church took advantage of the idea of purgatory and used it in conjunction with selling "indulgences" to help put money into the Catholic Church.
Purgatory was a scam run by the Catholic Church. It is not a Christian teaching.

Killer: The answer is this. The "purgatory" doctrine is not a plausible dogma when it comes to the Bible, that's why ! If you are of Ukrainian descent, you might go to "perogatory" when you die ... (just kidding !!! ). In all seriousness, you can not find the mention of purgatory in the pages of the Holy Bible - it is not a valid teaching !

there's no such place such as purgatory!! only heaven and hell....purgatory and ghosts are not related....ghosts are the evil spirits which Satan uses to confuse the people and get them not to believe in God. purgatory was just a part of the Roman Catholic religion.
