I'm flying out of Texas into Pennsylvania tomorrow. I flew a couple weeks ago also, and they wouldn't let me carry my lighter onto the plane. They said I could have matches, but not lighters. That pissed me off because when I got off the plane I needed a cigarette and couldn't have one lol.
There's a list of things on this website.

From my experience, you can't take on anykind of sharp cutting thing like a pocket kinfe, or even scissors. Also, sometimes, you can't bring on toothpaste (like on a carry on) because you could be hiding something in it. If you're not sure, don't bring it on you're carry on bag where they think you can get to it and do something bad.

It changes so often I usually check the Transportation Security Administration's Web site for clarification before I pack: http://www.tsa.gov/
They're right on top of things, like how security for the Super Bowl is going and stuff like that. ;-)
