My cabinets are red birch/natural finish; my floor is cork stone. Looking at silestone or granite. Want a relaxed look...

Its kind of hard to say what color, but I can tell you this: If you actually plan to COOK in this kitchen, get the silestone. If you are doing the countertops in an area primarily used for entertaining, the granite is much shinier but not as durable. Nor can it be repaired as readily. Actually corian is another really good choice. Its molded and made without ANY seams!

id go with a dark color granite

I think that I would go with the silestone.
