I still feel that it's dangerous..! That's just my opinion, I realize that there are couples that have met people on-line and they have worked out fine, but there seems to be more that haven't, from what I have reed..If your planning on doing this just keep in mind the dangers. That's the best advice I can give you.

I met my husband on the internet. Although I have to tell you....before I met him, I had to kiss a lot of toads!~ Just make sure you know what you are getting into and be wary of ill intentioned people. Just do not meet him alone for the first few times. After all what better way to get to know each other better after chats and emails. Meeting eye-to-eye is an eventuality. Just give the relationship some reality time, take it slowly but surely. Good luck!
BTW, if you are below 18 and the guy is way above 18, ....such an affair will never work. It can even ruin a family. or if the age gap is more than a few years...better think a hundred times about getting head on into such a relationship!

There is nothing wrong with internet relationships, the only difference is that you don't get to see the person unless you meet them, and that first meeting can make or break the relationship, based on the mental image you have created of them, and whether they told the truth, or showed pictures, or stuff like that. Be careful though, there are some whackos out there, just like in real life dating.

I hope you believe in opposites attract. Chances are this guy is nothing like the profile off the internet. Get some pictures and demand real answers. You can start with "what is a good guy like you doing on the net and available?
p.s. Remember, if it seems like it's too good to be true then 9 out of 10 it is.

i think it can work, and i know some people who have gotten married after meeting on the internet, and some people who have met friends on the internet, and also people who have been stalked after meeting/dating someone on the internet, so all i can say is just be careful, whatever you do!
P.S.--i think that the internet is the new craze of how to meet people because lots of singles nowadays have no life between work and school and some people even have work, school, AND famililes! they just have no time to sit down, talk, date, go out and do things with their bf/gf/so. it is so much easier to text message, call, email, im, webcam and myspace it these days.

I'm not too keen on internet relationships, it has ruined many of my friends lives as the people thay talk to in the end are rarely what or who they pretend to be. But like everyone, you always experience things in your own way so if you trust this man then have fun but take care.

Well that is how I met my wonderful husband..... I think it was a great way to meet someone if you are not into the bar scene..... we were able to talk back and forth via email/instant messaging and then the phone before we decided to meet in person... and then when we did I was sure to tell someone where and when I was going so that safety was covered..... good luck!

They scare me. I like to know how men are around other people. I dated a guy once and we were great one-on-one. But he was rude to waitresses, had a short temper when driving, and didn't pay his bills on time. Strange, but no matter how great we were together, these other things really diminished my opinion of him.
Have you met this guy in person? I worry less about the creepy-stalkers... but how is he around other people, in casual contact?
