i need advice??

i want to start a career as a singer i kno i most likely wont get far but i have hope and dreams so what should be my first step towards my goal!!(no dream is to big only too small),,

and im only 16 so no bar gigs

You are absolutely right, no dream is too big, but a dream confined to being a dream won't take you anywhere unless you take the necessary steps to realize it.

First thing to do is ask yourself: What does it take to become a singer? Ask yourself:

1. Do I have the talent?

2. Do I have the voice?

3. Do I have the determination and stamina, no matter what?

4. Am I aware of the etiquette, Implication and complication of the field?

5. Am I willing to sacrifice, no matter how dear it is?

Once you have answers to the above, and you feel comfortable with them, and then come the next step:

1. I have the talent, but talents are always like a gemstone in the rough, therefore I need to brush on my talent.

2. My voice is sweet, but sweetness still needs to be tamed, therefore training is required.

3. I have the determination, not stubbornness, and I can resist the winds of this field.

4. Every industry has its own protocols that can sometimes be too sophisticated, but I am intelligent and willing to learn.

5. When it comes to sacrifice, I know that there is no sweet without sweat and I also know if the sacrifice is far beyond my limits or is against any of my fundamental principles, my self-integrity should outweigh the sacrifice.

In a nutshell, a diamond in the rough may be beautiful, but not everybody like such a diamond until it is cut and polished.

I did not like you saying, "i kno i most likely won’t get far...” My advice: Aim high, but do not dwell on it, so in case you miss, you won't be heart-broken.

Ok...- So you wanna be a "Star..." hey?! :) Alright, you can start by offering to sing to any group of people who'd be willing to listen to you; at wedding receptions, parties, -stuff like that. THEN, if people liked you & you hadn't gotten "boo-d" off the stage, you might try checking out the bar or local club curcuit, & see what happens there. If THEY like you- and call you back, then maybe- just MAYBE, you could be "on your way..." Because you're right; No dream is too big... :) Give it a shot, & Good luck.

You should make a demo tape and than send it to all the big music companies. You could also try out for american idol. Dream big and good luck!

get some singing lessons it helps make your voice better and stronger and then make a demo tape and send it to all the big labels and producers. hey maybe one of them will like you! also probably try to get some connections in the music industry maybe if you know a local producer or something they could really help out...
