No retainers should be removed when eating to allow the teeth to function properly. It is only for a short while anyway.

As an Orthodontic assistant I am here to let you know that you should not wear your retainer while eating as they break easily if you are eating something hard.

if its a a fixed retainer u can eat . if not u should remove it for eating . am a dentsit

no......remove them if you are about to eat something hard...keep them in a proper place.....not in a napkin.
