Muscle doesn't turn to fat, that is a myth. You would just lose tone and definition and get fatter because you weren't working out.

If you want to be healthy and toned, don't give up. As soon as your metabolism catches up with your actions, you quit, making it easy to , well, quit. If you stick with it your body will feel good everytime you put in the effort. Plus you don't really want to bulk up right away, start slowly, fat burn and tone thats all, then it will be easier to maintain, alittle cardio here, a couple of ten lb. weights there, thats all it takes.
have fun with it, even find a work out buddy to enjoy it with you.

The thing is moving helps us survive, its good for every part of our bodies, including our brains, just keep the blood movin.

you have to realize that what you want to utilize for your short term goal isn't designed for that. people who start work out training are of the mind that they are entering a life-time commitment and discipline. any discipline demands commitment.

what i usually suggest to most people who don't want the bulk when they're working out is that they add swimming to their regimen. the combination seems to develop a body "to die for".
