i recently installed a new cd player in my car,but my dashlights wont turn on and my parking lights turn on and off along with the car.to what wire(color) on the cd player do i coonect them to.

Uh... I think you did something wrong. Why would you need to hook your lights to your stereo? I've done a few systems in my time, and I've never seen any reason to hook the lights up to it.

You might have mistaken one of the wires for a different one, sometimes there are different shades of certain colors, which you might have mixed up.

The colors of the wires are different depending on what make and model the car is.

The illumination lead is what you want to connect to. It might be labelled as "LUM", "ILL","LAMP" or something else, usually obviously related to lights.

What it does is turn down the backlight on the stereo when you turn on your headlights.

Remember that you need to tap into this line, not unplug it from the dash and into the CD player.

If you've connected it to the wrong wire, it's probably grounding out which is why your lights wont come on..

Typically illumination is the orange wire. Check the install manual/website to make sure.

if you,ll look on the radio,the wiring diagram is on it or with the papers that come with it ,and you,ll need the repair book to get the wiring diagram for you car you didn't even say what kind of car you had,and i couldn't tell you this because all cars have a different color code for that wire,good luck ,hope this help,s.
