My son used to have an imaginary friend called john who lived across the water in Dunoon Scotland he was only 3 he knew his address and we'd never been there but we got Simeon to check it out and there was once a boy named john who lived at the house but he'd died when he was 7 .This freaked us out but he doesn't talk about him any more .

My daughter had an imaginary friend at the age of 3. Then she had more and more imaginary friends until she was old enough to attend preschool and make real friends. Very normal and sign of a creative mind.

I believe in spirits and I believe that small children are more open to them than we are. My son told me about the "silver man" one night. That freaked me a bit, until he told me that the "silver man" was a firefighter named Jack who came to be his friend. Ask your son who he's talking to. If he says noone, he is just working on his imagination...which is actually a great gift.

So don't worry, mom.
