Nooooo... Long before you came into his life, he hated his life for some reason. He was looking for an excuse to end it. Don't blame yourself. It was going to happen anyway.

Hey there,
It's not your fault. Although he's no longer here, he took an easy way out... and that is to make you feel "guilty" for dumping him. If he really loved you, he would not corner you and make you feel guilty. Also, if he was a real man, he would take it as it is and take it like a man, not do something stupid like end his life. I'd suggest you speak to someone and talk to more people and stay with friends. Again, he chose to make you feel "guilty" but remember this, you have your right to choose and you didn't choose him, so don't blame yourself. Good luck girl and take care of yourself

In a way yes. It all depends how u dumped him. Getting away from a person has its own way. Looks u r selfish and selfcentred. Being verbaly abusive and later killing himself shows how in secure he was. You should have given him a helping hand to overcome his trouma.
Well, as u r a female, u have shown ur true color

In NO way were you even remotely responsible. Suicide isn't a decision that is " spur of the moment" , it takes time to commit to the actual decision. He had his mind made up long before you dumped him. Don't blame yourself, he was a sick person and wanted others to share in his sickness.

NO....apparently he had other issues, and one seems to have been depression. It is not your fault that he did what he did. It was a choice that he made, and he is the only one responsible for his decisions. However it is ashame that his parents did not see the depression....getting him help this way could have saved his life.

It is in no way your fault, if he was abusing you verbally then yes I would have said just leave him. Please don't blame yourself, I would say he was dealing with demons long before you knew him. I know it's going to be hard to do, but you need to move on. Please don't blame yourself.

Heck no it's NOT your fault. Anyone who would kill themself over a relationship that went wrong was mentally disturbed to begin with and you should be glad that you ended things when you did. Who knows, he might have killed you instead.

Not at all. Suicide is what people do to escape, and the only one responsible is the person themself along with their depression. Do not feel guilty, anyone who commits suicide has a deeper suffering of depression, even is they were never diagnosed. It is ok for you to morn, but you need to know it was not your falt in anyway. They were sick, and their disease killed them, thats it.
