Single dad gets no love?

I am a newly divorced dad with three kids... Am I outta luck in finding a soul mate?

Single dads DO get praise. The thing is, there aren't that many of them. There are significantly more single mothers than single fathers. And, there are a few reasons for this: nowadays, more women CHOOSE to be single mothers (a man can't choose to be a single father as he doesn't bare the child), courts favour the mother in most cases or offer joint custody, and men generally aren't as willing to take care of children all on his own (which means they often don't fight the courts for full custody). I've only known a handful of single fathers through my life. One was my husband, another was my own father. The rest weren't single fathers by choice--the mother died leaving the dad the children to take care of on his own. But, even with that said, I've known probably 10 times the single mothers than single fathers.

No..of course not! There is some woman out there for you. Go and find her. As long as you have something that intrigues her or that makes her attracted to you having kids in no way a big problem. I think that you have to find someone that is mature enough to handle 3 kids. Always be honest and let the person know about your kids and see if she can handle it. Some women can't and some can. Ok, seriously here...I'm going to tell you like I've told some other friends of mine.

You people all pick from the same catergory, it fails, and then you want to give up. Then all the women that you've dated, or married are all judged based on those women. You keep picking out of catergory A, when there is catergory B, and C, D..and so on.....

Everyone has a soul mate, its according to where and how you look for her....Quit looking in your usual places, and look elsewhere.

Why would you be? If you are a good guy, know how to treat a woman and willing to open up to love your children should just be a bonus... as long as they realize their father deserves to have love in his life. Kids have a way of making things harder than they have to be. They feel like they are being replaced, you won't love them or want them once you find someone else. It is a hard line you are trying to walk. You need to have a balance for the woman and the children in your life. Neither one takes a back door and neither one is left hanging. Good luck. I hope not. I'm a single mom of two and I know there is a man out there for me. We just have to be patient and learn from the mistakes we made in the past or else we will end up repeating them.

Take my advice Brian......do yourself a favor and your children and lay low for awhile........and then awhile longer.
Establish a routine for your children. They need that structure right now as thier world changes around them. I know it's not what you want to hear but throw all your time and energy into your kids and you.....for now.
Yes, you need time for fun too, I get that. It's called self care and it's very important. Yes, single dads will love again and I know for a fact it sucks to be where you are right now.
