I'm wondering why you are a former Christian. Was it these very questions you're asking that made you leave? Did you ever really have a relationship with Jesus Christ? There comes a "knowing", a revelation in your heart and when you get that, no one can take it away from you. I've been applying God's word to my life and it works. God keeps showing me more and more about Him and it just makes Him all the more real to me. I know what my life was like without Him...it was a wreck. Now I can't imagine my life ever being that way again. The Apostle Paul said that if we believed in a faith that was dead, we'd be the most miserable people in the world. I have more joy and hope now than I've ever had in my life. So, I'm going to keep believing. You asked how we would feel if it wasn't true but I'm asking you now, if it is true ( I believe it is), how are you going to feel when it's too late to change your mind?

Hi:-) Yes, i have thought of these same questions a long time back....The thing is....Christianity bases its truth and its doctrine on the word of God, the Bible. In the word of God, Jesus claims to be the only way. Since He performed many miracles, raised people from the dead, commanded a storm to be still and it obeyed, healed diseases, and rose from the dead Himself, then we are forced to face the reality of His words. Is what He said true or not? Either Jesus is a liar, a lunatic, or He is Lord. No one else in history, except Jesus, has fulfilled detailed prophecies, performed many miracles before eyewitnesses, and risen from the dead..
For those of us who are Christians, we have trusted what Christ has said. We believe in what He said and did. Like it or not, Jesus is the one who said He was the only way. Therefore, to say that maybe there is one more almighty being means that Jesus is false. To say that there are other ways to God, also means that Jesus is false. This is what it comes down to. Either Jesus is who He said He was and what He said is true, or He is false. This is a choice each individual must make. To trust what He said or reject His words.....its completely upto each one... :-)

I consider myself a Christian but not in the sense that everyone is taught. Everyone has thought these things, but no one wants to admit it. If they admitted it, then they would be scared of going to hell or having God angry at them or the best one.... they wouldn't be so Goody goody then! Nothing is absolute but God. You can take the sentence "Apples are red," and by the time it god translated 100 times and thousands of years later, it would read "Hippos are ugly!" Hahaha. Just someting to think about. Oh, and YES I've thought all those things, if it wasn't true, than oh well, I wouldn't do anything, and I'm not so sure I'm right. Hahaha.

I believe. I have faith in God and the Bible. Having more than one Almighty Being would be an oxymoron. I'm sorry you're a former Christian. Try reading your Bible again.
