Does Photoshop save jpegs to the highest standard? I think it is to do with compression. So far my The Gimp savings have failed to be acceptable.

When you go to save a file in Photoshop - it does mention the quality between 1 and 12. 1 being the lowest compression and 12 being the highest.

However, this only works when you have a high dpi such as 200 or more. If I saved a 72dpi photo at a lvl 1 compression and a 72dpi photo at a lvl 12 compression the only difference will be the size of the file (1mb as compared to 2mb). When viewed on the web, no noticeable differences will be seen.

certain it is going to once you compress it and keep. How a lot high quality is lost relies upon upon how a lot the picture has been compressed. oftentimes, this relief in high quality is troublesome to make certain, yet in case you many times make variations to an similar image and placed it aside with an intermediate high quality aspect, you would ultimately be conscious a lack of sharpness and colour accuracy.
