Evo is a great food but very expensive. When i began to look at the goal, to feed the highest quality protein available I began to look at raw feeding. I now feed a whole prey raw diet and have been doing this for two years now. I've very happy with the results and their teeth are so much healthier! I now raise some of their food as well which means i know exactly what went into those animals and there were no horomones or antibiotics used.

We have been feeding our two dogs (one is our dog he is a 1 yr old Beagle/Husky mix; one is our foster dog who is approx. 2 1/2 yr old Akita mix) Pedigree. We recently got a new foster dog; an abandoned Rottweiler, who ended up having such a good personality and responding so well to training we think we are going to keep him. Anyway, both the vet and my dog trainer (who evaluated the Rottie for me, is helping intro him to other dogs, and has 2 Rotts of our own) both think he needs to gain 5- lbs (he weighed 86lbs the day after we got him).So my hubby and I started researching our dog food. The advice I have gotten is the first two ingredients listed should be meat (a named meat like beef, chicken, etc. just "meat" listed prob not a good thing might mean all the leftover junk no other businesses want) or a named meat meal, and then rice. Or meat then rice. Anyway, Pedigree's first listed ingredient is ground corn, second is meat meal. So we are going to be switching. We are thinking of looking into these brands: "Authority", "Blue", "Nutro", and this is a silly name but my trainer feeds this and its #1ingredient is chicken, then chicken meal, then rice, anyway it is called "Dog Food for the Pet Lovers Soul" or something similar to that. Before, I just always thought, "oh, its a good name brand; its not the Dollar General brand or anything" . I guess I have just learned to read labels more on dog food and what to look for. Ideally, we would like to find a food that will help Doc (Rott) gain weight and then maintain it but help Achilles (Beagle/Husky mix) and Pogo (Akita mix) maintain a healthy weight. But they all are fed seperate until they get used together, so if we have to get different kinds for now, it is not a problem.. Sorry that was a long answer to a simple question:}

I feed my dog a raw meat diet. Chicken, beef, heart and other meats. I also supplements to his food. He has a beautiful shiny coat, tartar free teeth and like someone else mentioned, non smelly poop. For more info visit one of my favourite sites http://www.k9joy.com/ .....and yes, once in a while he does get scraps from the table....yes he is spoiled. But remember what is unhealthy for humans is also unhealthy for dogs. Feeding too many scraps from the table could lead to an overweight dog.

I feed Canidae. I swear by it. Great ingredients. Very nutritional. Excellent food. I will never feed anything else.
I am surprised to see all these owners feeding Purina, Pedigree etc...Such low grade food....Do people not research the food before giving it to their dogs? Doesn't anyone ever read the back panel?

My dog eats Solid Gold dry dog food only. It's a holistic dog food that does not contain any fillers or artificial preservatives.
It may cost a little more per bag, but she eats less, so it comes out to about the same in the long run. Not only that, she digests it better, so she poops less, too :-)

We feed Innova, but not EVO. Our dogs have been on it for years and it's one of the top dog foods on the market. My dogs do great on it!

I feed my dogs a raw (but cooked diet) they enjoy it. It is usauly cooked lean beef or chicken (boneless and skinnless) 1/2 cooked brown rice 3/8 and fresh veggies 1/8 (peas or green beans). I also give my dogs a multi viti. ,cod liver oil and flax seed oil daily. They are all show dogs GSD they all have healthy coats, skin and are examples of health. I have 4 German Shepherd's three of them are all black you should see them shine. I love my dogs so much and try my bet to do right by them.

I was wondering why you were asking? Sometimes I wonder the same thing. But I have a Austrailian Cattle Dog, Red Heeler and she is full of energy and very smart, and since she was a pup I've fed her Eukanuba brand food and she hasn't had alot of uncalled for vet visits, and she's 6 yrs. old now and still just as alert and ready for whatever as long as she has something to do every day then she's totally content although heelers are working dogs so I couldn't imagine having one and not having stock to work. I also tried Science diet and noticed more waste and she also didn't act like she felt as good but since my vet recommended it I tried it but went back to the food my family has used for years and had good results. That's Eukanuba
