If you believe guns are to blame , you might first consider the following. Using the same reasoning:
Knives kill people.
Baseball bats kill people.
Archery equiptment kills people.
Cars kill people.
Planes kill people.
Boats kill people.
Bathtubs kill people.
Ropes kill people.
Dogs kill people.
Space exploration kills people.
Fire kills people.
Surgery kills people.
Food kills people.
Sports kills people.
Jobs kill people.
Electricity kills people.
Surfing kills people.
Mountain climbing kills people.
Suntanning kills people.
Swimming kills people.
I could go on and on.
A pencil, driven up through the bottom of the lower jaw , through the soft palate, and into the brain will kill someone as well.
People can be killed with your bare hands, (as tens of thousands of dead people over the centuries could testify)
It's easy to blame an insturment and call for it to be banned,
but the truth is, if someone is determined to kill someone else or themselves, then there is nothing you can ban which will stop them from doing so.
You could ban MURDER....
Wait. thats ALREADY ILLEGAL.
Claiming that guns kill people is a simplistic, unfounded, and illogical argument.
People are the murders, regardless of the means they use to commit the crime.

People kill people. A gun is an instrument. An object without passion, prejudice or the ability to think. Yes, guns have been used as an instrument to kill people. But without that intent from a person a gun can't do anything.

People say guns kill, and they do, under circumstances apparently beyond the government's control. I do not and will never pick up a gun unless that was the only option to not die. (like if I were a hostage, I would wrestle for the gun and try to get it).
Gangs that have weapons are dangerous, yes, they kill innocent people. Two black men terrorized an area and were sniping for weeks before being caught, their guns did not discharge on their own.
A teenager walks into a shopping mall and shoots people at will.
These are not acts of rational people. Why doesn't the government give out psychiatric exams to gun buyers? BECAUSE THE LOBBYISTS WOULD RIP THAT IDEA TO SHREDS.
People have free will. Not all people think in a rational manner. They can act rational enough to be able to walk into a gun store and purchase a gun, but it doesn't mean they aren't insane.

People kill people.It's not a gun's fault when it is pointed at a person and has it's trigger pulled.Blaming guns for killing people is like blaming your pencil for your homework problems.

Projectiles that cause damage to the human body kill people, it doesn't take a firearm to kill people, in fact in Rwanda they used a lot of machete's to kill people. In cambodia they used plastic bags to suffocate people.
I guess we need to ban the human brain, it is the most dangerous of all weapons.
