For starters, chill out, its just yahoo answers.
Secondly, I'm here because I think I may have something to offer to this site. And I occasionally get chosen for best answer, so I cant be entirely wrong.
Thirdly, yeah there are christian bashers, but you can ignore them just as easily as I ignore the atheist bashers on here. (And believe me theres quite a few.) Theres really no need to get so worked up.
The bashers (of any group) who are on here are just trying to get a reaction out of the people theyre bashing. By responding to them all you do is feed the fire. Ignore them and theyll go away.
Final thought, what would Jesus do?

Personally I do it to wake a few people up, defend people who need defending due to lack of ability on their own, and to share reasoning with those who can reason.
Wasting our time? I think you are confused about the group. It is not, "Christian religion". It is "Religion & Spirituality" which covers a lot more than Christianity, including atheism and agnosticism, as these are ideas about belief systems.
No, most Christians won't change their minds, and the trash spouted toward Christians is more a sign of a needy person than any real reasoning ability on the part of the person, however many facts they add. Facts don't make intelligence, though there are many very intelligent and reasonable atheists and agnostics here.
I am a fan of Christianity for being the largest charitable organization in the world, as well as the wisdom of Jesus (Yeshua, etc.), and the rest of the Bible.
I've also read the Quran, the Vedas, the Satanic Bible, etc.
I have a thirst for wisdom, and the wisdom to realize I am not yet "wise".
I love free speech and want more non-Christians here, and more Christians. Ideas and discussion make the U.S.A. stronger and makes it harder on dictatorships and those who prize ignorance.
I am not religious. I experienced God directly when I was seventeen, and can never doubt God's existance. It is no longer a belief. It is a fact to me. Unprovable, perhaps. But a personally experienced fact, nonetheless.
Your appeal falls on deaf ears. They are not hear to change your mind. They consider you a lost cause. They are here to sharpen their claws on you and feel superior because they can mimic other atheists who really do have intelligent things to say, but don't need to be rude to say them.
They'll grow. Keep talking to them. Some of the best additions to mankind were the Christian saints and founders who were willing to talk to non-Christians gently and without expectation of changing the minds of those around them except by the audience coming to an accord with just a bit of guidance.
I think a certain founder had just that approach in mind when he started his ministry. I hope I can properly imitate him one day, whether I am a "believer" or not.
Keep speaking up, everyone.

I spend time in the R&S section because I am a very religious person who takes her spirituality seriously. I enjoy learning about different religions because it helps me to understand people better. I like sharing my religion with others who ask about it. I've never practiced Christianity and don't feel the need to bash other religions.

If you click on "Society and Culture" you get all the religious questions as well as those of more interest. One can't help reading and being amused by some of the religious nutters . In any case, "Religion and Spirituality" says nothing at all about Christianity, it is just that some Christians seem to have appropriated it. All religions and spiritual ideas are covered by the topic.
Many of the so-called Christians in the section are not Christians at all but Old Testament Fundamentalists - and they are fair game for anyone with a brain cell or two.

Unfortunately, no: the typical Christian (or Muslim, or ...) is not about to take up atheism. But that does not mean that atheists should not attempt to present the facts, so that those who have both the intellectual horsepower and the time to use it can figure out how the world works. Sometimes there is success -- to the benefit of both the former believer and of society as a whole.

Because it's a free country. This isn't ONLY for Christians. I don't know why you would think there's only ONE religion. And, here you are bashing other people -- ugh.

I'm here because I enjoy learning about others' paths, and so that I can help answer questions about my own.
I couldn't care less whether or not you "took up my way of life" - your path is your own. Unlike some religions, proselytization is frowned upon in my religion.

Because in case it has escaped you...there are other religions out there in the world. Christianity is not the only one.

I am a Christian, you are right in saying that if you have a solid relationship with Christ no Atheist is going to win us over to their way of thinking. You should however welcome them here and let them debate with us. You never know, something they read here might make them change their mind. Any soul won to Christ is a good thing right?
