Oh, c'mon
Are you seriously looking for an answer?
First of all, "Why are we attracted to these chemical compositions",
Attracted as in ,choosing to be born? , Attracted to the opposite sex? ,Attracted to the same sex?
The human mind is the major culprit to all attraction, it is motivated by hormones and neuro chemical messangers to the brains receptors.
Look at the human body, physically weak, and susceptable to the enviroment. No feathers, fur , teeth, or claws that make us very formidable opponants in the game of survival.
What we lack for in outwardly visable survival apparatus we have compansated for by grouping together. It seems that one of our basic needs feeds this human survival tactic, the need for companionship.
Many creatures survive solo, they come together for mating only, then it's adios amigos.
Wolves mate for life and also group together for survival, as well as many other creatures. In order to bring down animals much larger than wolves, the pack must exist. Being drawn together in this way is one way for creatures to survive.

I don't understand what you are talking about. Are you asking why feel a liking to certain things? Well, it is because our brain finds that thing appealing, mysterious, calming, etc, etc...

Because we're alive. We're not just beakers of formaldehyde, we have a survival instinct and a reproduction instinct.
(At least most of us do.)

If by attraction you are referring to sexual attraction, it is an obvious asset for evolutionary success. (Evolution is a proven fact; details on request.)
