There is too much friction when I do a bench press. Please help.

i agree, use free weights at anytime possible. free weights are the only way you can build up the stabalizer muscles

you are wasting your time benching on a smith machine. it is not a natural movement as the proper form for the bench press is not really a linear movement but more of a slight curve. i've seen more injury's caused by pattern overload from constant use of the smith machine for pressing exercises.

if you want to get big and strong use free weights. muscles operate in 3 planes of motion, machines do not...
