I really like this girl, and she knows I like her (we're in high school). After I gave her a card and a poem for Valentine's Day telling her how much I like her, she hasn't talked to me, and it's obvious, at least to me, that she's avoiding me. I can accept the fact that she probably doesn't like me, but it makes me angry because it was her who started flirting with me and acting like she was somewhat interested. My friends often say that she likes me because she flirts with me, but I know she doesn't because: (1) she flirts a lot with everyone, (2) if she likes me and she knows I like her, why would she ignore me? ---- Having said that, what should I do now? There's no school this week, so what should I do when school starts again? What are the chances that things will get back to normal?

maybe she is taking the time to think this over. she is in high school. you know the girls, she has to make sure its ok with her friends, lol. if she doesnt talk to you when you go back to school, then forget about her. she will come around and start talking when you arent paying her any attention. she feeds on attention.

I would go up to her when shool starts and say to her ...
"Look I know that you are avoiding me, it is obvious. More than likley it was me giving you that card and poem. Look, if you don't like me then just tell me and I will leave you alone. But if you do like me, just tell me, we could go on a date or something. But I don't want you to keep avoiding me. Just tell me how you feel and I will be on my way. I cannot control my feelings, but I will understand if you say you are not interested."
Or something like that, she should give you an honest answer. You can adjust this anyway you would like to. I hope she says she likes you. I know a girl that flirts alot with everyone and she says her goal is to "date every guy in the neighborhood" so she may just be pulling your leg. Just be carefull letting your heart go to those flirty mc flirty goobers out there. They are dangerous, trust me I know. Don't forget, you are all still young, she might not be ready for a relationship with someone. So she may be avoiding you until she is ready to say something. She also may be a little shy, you know? Girls are VERY complex, you just got to read her signs just right.
Good luck with the girl chasing my friend.

Well I have been in that very same position before. It sounds like she is a flirty girl and that is a part of her personality. Don't worry too much about what happened...... you can save the friendship if you want to. All you need to do to save the friendship is tell her that you care for her as a friend. Tell her that you wanted to make sure that she had a wonderful valentines day. Make sure she understands that and everything will return to normal. And if it helps then tell her you love the fact that she is your friend and you don't want to lose that.

Lot's of girls(and guys) like to flirt around just because it's fun to them, or they may just like to see who they could have a chance with. She could be ignoring you for many reasons. Like you said, she may just not like you, but it could also be because one of her friend's likes you and she doesn't want to make them mad, or she is scared of what people may think, or she may just simply not want to be in a relationship. There's a lot of other reasons, but those are just some idea's. I think you should just leave it alone, maybe talk to her some if she get's online. Things will return back to normal before too long, and if you know she doesn't like you then just be friendly and make conversation without hovering over her, or trying too hard. Good luck.

She may be ignoring you because now knowing that you like her she is uncomfortable and doesnt know how to act around you. I would accept that she is avoiding you and just let her be. If she realizes that you dont care anymore i'm sure she'll come around again. Girls do like attention as much as anyone, especially froms boys they flirt with.

To me, it sounds like this girl is playing games. you're too mature for that so i say just forget her! but first before you do, talk to her and tell her how u feel and see what she has to say about why her behavior has changed. i must say that i applaud you for stepping up and letting her know how u feel, that took alot of courage. not too many guys express their feelings. you deserve a girl that's gonna be real with you and anyways you don't want a girl that's gonna flirt with every guy she sees! the good news is that u found out early how she was. good luck!

Dude drop her. Literally show her no attention. This way she'll think two things,1, you're fed up with her stupidity or 2, you're afraid of her. Either way she'll have to eventually make some sort of contact with you. If she doesn't dont worry about it, there's so many other females out there than just her, leave her *** and move on.

some girls are just like that man. those girls just "need" to have attention. and "need" to feel "wanted." now that u have crossed that line she may not find you interesting or doesnt want u thinking she likes you whenever she decieds to "casually flirt." if she's all over everyone anyway then chances are she wasnt gonna be the best girlfriend ever anyway... just thought u should know.

Well, you've mistaken a friendly girl for one that is intrested romantically in you. There is a fine line between the two, and you're just stuck on the wrong side this time. Chalk it up to experience, and move on :)

I would pretend nothing happened and move on. If she is playing hard to get- she will get jealous, and if she is not into you- you will still have your dignity. If she flirts with everyone then maybe you should steer clear anyway.
