Are you nuts>??

neither!!!

If you are going bear handgun hunting you will need at least a .44magnum. A .454 Cassule, a .50AE, or a .500S&W would be best.

When I was 'working' forest fires in Alaska back in '89, I brought along my S&W Mod. 28 in .357 Magnum for bear defense. When the rangers saw that, they laughed and asked if I intended to throw it at whatever bear was attacking me since that would have about the same effect as shooting one with it. They were all (and I mean every last man jack of them) wearing the Freedom Arms .454 Casull since it was, at the time, "the most powerful handgun in the world". I suspect if I were to go there now, they'd be carrying the .500 S&W Magnum.

Moral of the story : USE ENOUGH GUN!!!

Your kidding, Right? I went bear hunting with a bow. I was grateful for the tree stand we were in. Better get you a bigger gun and follow the laws where you live on bear hunting.

It depends on what you want to do to the bear. The .22 will tickle the bear and the 9mm will p*ss it off.

It depends on wether you wanna just aggravate him or flat piss him off. neither have the power to kill a bear. In my opion if you are seriuosly thinkin of either of these as a viable option you have no business being in the woods hunting easter eggs just stay inside and dont think anymore

Neither one is legal for the harvest of any kinds of huntable bears in the United States.
Neither is nearly powerful enough to assure a kill.
Much less a humane one.

A .22 will do nothing but get it madder, a 9 mm will just pee it off even more. .

Both of those rounds would just piss a bear off and he'd make you his dinner..lol

You'd be better off trying to climb a real high tree to avoid the bear then to shoot one with either of those calibers.

ur one crazy guy 22 wont do nothing to the bear. same with the 9mm id get a 44 supermag or a 30 06 but if those were your only choices use the 9mm with hollow point tips try to aim at the vitals!

9mm
Both are very obviously stupid, but big game cannot legally be taken with a rimfire.
I have seen a bear killed with a 9mm. It will do it.
