The nation of Israel is where the Jews were from. Israel is the new name that God gave to Jacob who was the son of Isaac who was the son of Abraham. Abraham also had another son named Ishmael. God's covenant with Abraham came down through Isaac to the Jewish people. When Mohammed came along (after Jesus) he claimed that God's promise really came down through Ishmael instead of Isaac. Muslims are the descendants of Ishmael and Jews are the descendants of Isaac. Mohammed had it wrong and led the Arab people away after a false god.

Actually both of religion is the same. What make the difference is what has being changed. Jews, Muslims, and Christians all believe in Allah. Even Buddhism believe The One that create universe.
That's why, if someone make his/her own research, the are similarities in the holy books but has being change by someone. A really good researcher will end up believing in Allah.

First off, Allah is God; the word Allah quite literally means God. If you don't believe me, then pick up an Arabic translation of the Bible.
Thus, the transition was quite simple. Just as Jews who followed the teachings of Christ became Christians, Jews and Christians who followed the revelations to Muhammad became Muslims. Still, almost any Jew or Muslim will acknowledge they believe in the same God--for some reason those outside of the Middle East tend not to see this as much. It's a simple misunderstanding prevalent in any place with small Jewish or Muslim populations.

Ishmael is the head of the Arabs. He was cast out away from Abraham and Isaac(the Jews). And he established a nation (the Arabs). At some point they bought into Islam. I read that early Islam honored the Jews. As it went along it has denied the one true God. They rewrote their own Bible, and have been brainwashed into hating the Jews. The Jews don't hate them, they simply defend theirselves. They might take the first action, but it is always in the interest of self defense.

I think that for most of history the Jews have been very well treated by the Muslims (even by the Germans!). I think this all changed with the Askenazi Jews. (I think, not really sure though)
