I need a topic within the broad topic of oxycontin. For example: the effects on nasal passages of snorting oxycontin. I am writing a ten page paper and I am looking to narrow down my choices. I need something that I can be intersted in so I can write a good paper! I am drawing a blank! I appreciate any help I can get.

Oxycontin is an extended release opioid analgesic similar to oxycodone.
It is not clear what the subject matter your paper entails, but you may consider discussing the safety efficacy of the drug or maybe the cost of the drug vs. availability in the black market.
This is a good drug when used appropriately and it works for a lot of people, but news reports suggest it is highly addictive.
I would also suggest reviewing published studies on the drug through databases like EBSCO and OVID or CINAHL.

I did a paper on Oxycontin and I focused on ways people obtain Oxycontin and how we can prevent things like this from happening. There are computer programs which track prescriptions...who wrote them, if they've been filled, the date they were filled....that way people can't doctor shop. Pretty interesting.

Possibly why oxycontin seems to be the drug of choice for poorer people, as opposed to people in a better economic stratum?

How about violence. My husband was in a car accident and became violent on that medicine. He put all his pills in a jar and told me to tell his mother he loved her and was about to swallow them all. I had to sit on top of him to restrain him, it was very violent.
He doesn't remember that. He only remembers waking up in detox with a diaper on. That is a sick pill and should be taken off the market. People sell that stuff. It should be used only in certain instances, like for people who are dying of a terminal illness. It messes up people's minds.

WELL I DONT KNOW IF IT WILL HELP YOU BUT IT HAS BEEN REFERRED TO HERE ANYWAYS AS HILLBILLY HEROIN.ITS REALLY BAD AND A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE DIED FROM IT.MY EXHUSBANDS NEPHEW DIED FROM SHOOTING THIS UP WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM HIS FRIENDS.WHAT A WASTE ,HE WAS 26 YEARS OLD.
