What is the purpose of doing this to your body? Will it ever go back small?

it is their form of expression...kind of like tattoos, kinda addictive, and a rush. It's just like asking someone why they wear makeup (I know its not premanent) or why someone wears those ugly ugg boots...its what they like and their form of expression...but it has more to do with physical body manipulation. I have a couple tattoos myself and have some friends with gages in their ears...its a bad idea to get them really big because they do not go back to normal size....the only way to get them back to normal size is by having surgery to sew them back together...so i think that the people that get them extremely big are kinda stupid. It's their style just like preppy girls wear coats with fur...I guess its a group form of expression...and no offense to you if you are preppy...i have a lot of different types of friends and i dont necessarily mean to stereotype.

I have no idea, but I think when people use the button things and the piercing becomes huge,(the following is an opinion and nobody should be offended) it's disgusting!!!

If I new the answer to that I could probably get my neice to stop doing it! Too answer your second question, I know that can only be done by surgery!!
