It tastes like a dry martini. It is made with gin. A really dry one has a drop of sweet vermouth swirled in the glass and then the wine is dumped out. Pop in an olive, and enjoy.

Love... a dry martini means no vermouth .... if you really want to try some do it at home with a friend because it appears you are not an experienced drinker and a martini or two sweet dry or dirty will lay you out fast

Well.

Martini's are mostly gin. (Sometimes Vodka)

The vermouth gives it a certain dry quality, and influences the taste a bit.

The bottom line is- A Martini is only as good as the liqour used.

Beefeater is my personal favorite, but Bombay Sapphire would be the top shelf option.

Tanqueray is Gin. Dry is the thank you to describe the way it tastes. in line with danger he replaced into needing a Gin and Tonic or a Gin Martini yet desperate to adhere along with his properly-known Vodka drink. yet another element...gin isn't if ever ate up via itself. it relatively is often mixed with Vermouth, Orange Juice, Tonic, Ginger Ale or Lemon juice.

In my own humble opinion it's like a combination of jet fuel and 27 disgruntled midgets hammering on your gonads. I've never acquired a taste for the stuff.
